What we collect, and what we never do with it.

Last updated: 2026-07-26

Belfry (belfry.tv) is a TV and movie tracker that reminds you the moment a new episode or release drops. Belfry is operated by C2 Technology Systems, LLC. This page explains what we collect, why, who else sees any of it, and how you stay in control.

What we collect

  • Your account email.
  • Optional profile details: display name and chosen avatar.
  • Your timezone and notification preferences.
  • Your phone number — only if you opt into text (SMS) reminders, verified with a one-time code.
  • The shows and movies you follow, your watch history, and your ratings.
  • Household membership, if you join or create one.
  • Questions you ask Ask Belfry.

Why we collect it

Solely to provide the service: to track what you follow, tell you what’s airing, send the reminders you asked for (email, push, calendar, or text), answer your Ask Belfry questions, and let a household share lists together. Nothing here is collected for advertising.

Who processes it

We use a small set of named vendors (sub-processors) to run Belfry. Each sees only what it needs to do its one job:

  • SMTP2GO — delivers your email reminders and account emails.
  • Telnyx — delivers your text (SMS) reminders and verification codes, if you opt in.
  • Anthropic — answers your Ask Belfry questions. It receives your question text and the relevant catalog or library context needed to answer it, nothing more.
  • Paddle — processes payments as our merchant of record. Belfry never sees your card number.
  • TVmaze, TMDB, and JustWatch — these are catalog data sources, not places your data goes. They flow show, movie, and availability data into Belfry; we do not send them your personal data.

Cookies

Belfry uses essential session cookies only — the kind that keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics/tracking cookies.

Retention

We keep your data for the life of your account. If you ask us to delete it, we do — see “Your rights” below.

Your rights

  • Export — pull your watch history and ratings out anytime as a CSV, right from the app.
  • Correct — update your email, name, avatar, and preferences from your profile at any time.
  • Delete — email support@belfry.tv and we’ll delete your account and associated data. Today this is a manual process on our end (v1) — we’re building an automated self-serve deletion flow post-launch.

If you’re in the EU/EEA or UK, this covers your GDPR rights to access, correct, delete, and export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you’re a California resident, this covers your CCPA rights to know, delete, and opt out of any sale of personal information — we don’t sell personal data, so there’s nothing to opt out of.

No ads, no selling data

Belfry has no advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal data with anyone for marketing purposes. Ever.

Children

Belfry is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know directly.
